SMB

Refers to a market category consisting of small and midsize businesses, as defined by annual revenue and/or number of employees. Generally, businesses with 100 or fewer employees are considered small, while businesses with 101 to 999 employees qualify as midsize. In terms of annual revenue, businesses with $50 million or less are small; those with more than $50 million but less than $1 billion are midsize. SMBs have different IT needs than their larger counterparts. Typically faced with limited resources (staff and budget), SMBs often look to outsource IT to third parties – e.g., solution providers.
